BRICKSin collaboration with European Museum Forum and Museu da Farmácia
presents
BRICKS: The European solution for Digital Libraries services
10 May 2006
Museu da Farmácia Rua Marechal Saldanha, 1 Lisbon (Portugal)
The initiative represents the kickoff event of the BRICKS Community and intends to present to the wider public the BRICKS Project opportunities and its first achievements.
The BRICKS Consortium aims at bringing together resources and experiences from a wide pool of subjects working in the cultural heritage fields, such as governmental cultural heritage institutions, SMEs, software developers, cultural organisations, researchers, and any other organisation committed to bringing to bear state-of-the art ICT in the cultural heritage world.
One of BRICKS’ major strengths is its ability to foster a truly collaborative, participative environment on a continental scale and beyond. This approach is reflected in its distributed, decentralized ICT foundations, built upon a peer-to-peer infrastructure.
The Lisbon event, thus, offers a long-awaited occasion for museum professionals, ICT players, librarians, SMEs, EU, national, and local government officials, and other subjects interested in technological innovation applied to cultural heritage.
During the event, the first two BRICKS training modules for Community members will take place. The participation to the event is open to all interested parties and free of charge.
