ARC Seibersdorf research GmbH (ARCS)

The Research Studio Digital Memory Engineering (DME) is part of a new business unit of the Austrian Research Centres, the largest non-academic research institution in Austria. DME works in close collaboration with the University of Vienna, Institute for Computer Science and Business Informatics, Multimedia Information Systems, and both of these institutions are headed by Univ. Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Klas, whose recent work in the cultural heritage sector includes the CULTOS and REGNET projects. The principal areas of expertise include Multimedia Memory Technologies (Standards, Databases, Metadata), and Semantic Web and e-Business Applications (XML and ebXML).
