Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne (EPFL)

The Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology at Lausanne) institute LISR is part of the Institute of Core Computing Science of EPFL's School of Computer and Communication Sciences and a project partner in EPFL’s National Competence Center in Research on Mobile Information and Communication Systems. LSIR’s mission is to develop information technology for large-scale information management on the Internet and in mobile networks. LSIR offers in-depth experience and research in the areas of scalable distributed access structures, peer-to-peer systems, and semantic integration. The group is headed by Prof. Karl Aberer who has published more than 50 papers on data management on the WWW, information commerce, workflow systems, database interoperability and query processing.
